Service

Custom software.

When the off-the-shelf tools don’t fit, I build the missing piece. Pragmatic web apps that ship in weeks, not quarters.

Fixed-price builds from AUD $2,000. Most projects take 2–6 weeks, with larger builds split into stages. Pricing and ongoing costs.

Common builds

  • Booking systems

Calendar · payments · CRM sync

  • Customer portals

    Login · orders · invoices · self-serve

  • Internal dashboards

Live KPIs from your real data

  • Integration layers

    When Zapier hits its limits

You own the code · no lock-in ships in 2–6 weeks

Common outcomes

What custom actually buys you.

  • Booking systems that just work.

Customers book, pay, get reminders, get confirmations, all in your branding, all on your domain. No more juggling three SaaS tools that almost fit.

  • Replace repetitive order processing.

Like the automated ordering system that ended three years of processing every order by hand. Orders, payments and notifications can flow through one connected system.

  • Customer portals that close support tickets.

Login, view orders, see invoices, download docs, update details. Give customers a clear way to find routine information themselves, and measure the effect on support requests.

  • Internal dashboards over your real data.

See the numbers that actually matter to your business, pulled live from Xero, your CRM, your booking system, in one place, on one screen.

What I build

Real software, on infrastructure you own.

  • Booking + reservation systems

Custom booking flows with payment, calendar sync, reminder sequences and CRM integration. Built for businesses that have outgrown Calendly or Acuity.

  • Customer portals

Login, dashboard, account history, document storage, invoice payments. Cuts down support load and looks more professional than a ZIP file by email.

  • Ordering + e-commerce systems

When Shopify is too generic and your products are too specific. Custom checkout, product config, integrations with your fulfilment process.

  • Internal dashboards

Real-time KPI dashboard pulling from Xero, HubSpot, Stripe, your CRM. A maintained dashboard that replaces repeated spreadsheet updates.

  • Integration / middleware layers

When Zapier and Make hit their limits, fewer steps, less monthly cost, full control over the logic. Built and hosted on infrastructure you own.

  • Marketing landing pages + funnels

Fast, custom landing pages designed to convert. SEO-optimised, A/B-testable, built with the same care as a real product page.

Hi, my name's Flynn and I run Kombi Camping. We're a Kombi hire business in South Australia, so we rent out Kombi vans that are fully set up for camping for people to take away on a holiday and we run that all over South Australia and mainly in the Barossa Valley. But we started working with Dan, we were trying to set up our own booking system, so we wanted to stop using a third party to get away from fees and things like that. So we hit up Dan and we got him to create our own software where we could run our own bookings and talk to our customers directly through there and no exactly schedule we were trying to get onto and everything like that. And working with Dan through that was super easy, the process was super smooth, it was really easy to communicate with and he did everything that we were trying to achieve. I would highly recommend Dan for using any of your website development or booking systems and things like that. But yeah, been working with Dan, it's been a pleasure and yeah, cheers.

Dan has created websites and automations for me since the beginning of my career in photography. He's mastered the art of creating something that just works. I wouldn't trust anyone else with this part of my business. Thanks Dan, can't wait to continue working with you in the future.

Hi, I'm Kenzi. I'm a full-time photographer, and I've been full-time for five years, but I've been in business for over ten years now. And with every change in the season and in my life, the one thing that stayed constant is Dan and his assistance with my website and my business in general. He's on top of the ball thinking about things in the back end of my website that I wouldn't ever consider. And, you know, that's such a blessing as a business owner because we have to focus on, you know, showing up in other ways and focusing in on our craft so that we can stay in business. And what happens is that he makes these changes before we even know that we need them happening. So thank you, Dan, for all your help. Thank you for, you know, just being on top of the ball with SEO, with my web design, with all the booking and payment systems. I would be truly lost without you. And for anyone listening, if you're looking for an IT specialist, I wouldn't recommend anyone more than Dan. Thank you.

Hi, guys. My name is TJ. I am one of the directors at Just Dollars and Sense. We've been working with Dan since about 2020, I think. Dan helped us build our website and has helped us do a couple of rewrites of the website as our business changed and our direction changed, and also helped us with a whole bunch of ad hoc tasks like landing pages, getting some SEO work done, and help us get more traffic to our website. We definitely wouldn't have a web page without him, so he's really helped us in that space. He's always been really great to communicate with, really great at talking through our vision and what we want and helping bring that into reality. So really grateful for all the work he's done and can highly recommend him.

FAQ

Common questions about custom software

How long does a custom software build take?

Most projects ship in 2-6 weeks. A small booking system or portal: 2-3 weeks. A larger ordering system with payments and integrations: 4-6. Anything bigger than 8 weeks usually means we should split it into phases, first a smaller useful thing, then iterate.

What does 'I own what you build' actually mean?

The code lives in your GitHub repo (or one I set up for you). It runs on infrastructure in your name (Netlify, Cloudflare, AWS, whatever fits). I have access while we're working together; if we ever stop, I hand back the keys and you keep going. No license fees, no kill switch.

Will I need to learn to code to use it?

Never. Anything you'll touch day-to-day has a normal interface, forms, buttons, dashboards. Code only ever exists between me and the deployment pipeline.

What about ongoing maintenance?

First 90 days of bug fixes are included with every build. After that, most clients move onto a Care Plan ($390/mo): monitoring, all bug fixes and break repairs, dependency and security updates, and a couple of hours of small tweaks each month. It provides ongoing support as the tools around your build change. You're never locked in, you own everything, but most stay because it's the sensible way to run software you depend on. The pricing page has the full breakdown.

What if I want to add features later?

Send me a message describing what you want. I'll quote a fixed price, you approve, I build. Same process every time. The thing I built is designed to be added to, that's part of why I don't just glue together SaaS tools.

Got an off-the-shelf tool that almost fits?

If you’re hacking around the edges of a SaaS product, paying for features you don’t use, or losing time on a workflow nobody else in your industry has, there’s probably a better way. 30-minute call, free.
